We are pleased to announce the appointment of Leigh McDivitt to the role of Head
Chef at the 3 Weeds Rozelle. Leigh takes over from Chef John Evans who is taking
an extended vacation in Wales.
Having spent the last 2 years as John's sous chef it is with great anticipation
that Leigh assumes command of the kitchen. It is ideal timing for him, a young
man with the right mix of experience, drive and passionate enthusiasm to make
his mark as a great chef.
Leigh commenced his career as a 17 year old with an apprenticeship with the
Merivale Group working at Slip Inn, Bistro CBD and Est. His time at Bistro
CBD included working under John Evans for the first time as his Chef de Partie.
In 2004 he moved on to study under the well renowned Genevieve Copeland at Lotus.
Then in 2005 he took the opportunity to join Thomas Johns at the two hatted
restaurant Pello where he progressed into the role of Senior Sous chef.
In 2006 Leigh joined John Evans newly created team at the 3 Weeds Rozelle as Sous Chef.
2009 promises to be the year where we see Leigh elevate The Restaurant to new heights with creative, innovative and inspiring menus.
Leigh commences his tenure from Monday 27 April 2009 and is available for interviews by prior arrangement.
